Description
Features
The design of the body adopts the ISO13407 Human-Centered Design process, with the focus on operability down to the smallest detail, including easy-to-hold ergonomically shaped grips, rounded corners for easier scanning, and an optimized key layout. It has been designed to meet the performance required for a wide variety of working environments, with a powerful CPU for faster processing and communications speeds.
The evolution of the handheld terminal has entered a new era. With this, usability has reached a new level that ensures convenience and comfort in a diverse range of tasks.
Human Centred Design
CASIO employs human-centered design methods during product development. We produce prototypes based on data obtained from user interviews and behavior observation that mimics actual worksites and then perform testing and verification from the perspectives of usability specialists and users alike.
The results are fed back to the design teams, and shapes and designs are perfected through repeated refinements.
A body shape designed to ensure a comfortable grip
We conducted tests on a series of actions involving holding the terminal, viewing the screen and scanning then designed the body shape, grip material, surface treatment, and other details on the basis of the test results. This process resulted in an ergonomically shaped grip that fits comfortably in the hand and permits operation for many hours without fatigue.
Downward scanner angle to facilitate easier scanning
We scanned barcodes placed at various heights, measuring work times and muscle load and also performed eye movement tracking. Analysis of the resulting data led to adoption of a downward scanning angle that places little strain on the eyes, arm, or hand and ensures reliable scanning even of barcodes in high and low locations while viewing the screen at the same time.
Key shape designed for ease of input
We performed actual input operation using design prototypes with different combinations of key shape, size and pitch then compared ease of input. By compiling data on the operating experiences of test subjects and making repeated improvements, we arrived at a key design that enables comfortable, accurate input.
High Resolution
Large-screen 4.3-inch touch panel LCD
Equipped with a 4.3-inch LCD panel, one of the largest in the industry. The high resolution WVGA screen allows for exceptional clarity of text and images.
Resistive touch panel
Enter data and enlarge or reduce images with a touch of the screen. And because it uses resistive touch technology, the touch screen responds even when the operator is still wearing gloves.
High Speed
Improved hardware specifications
Equipped with a powerful CPU and high-speed memory for faster input, display and transmission. It also supports high-speed data communication both indoors and outdoors as well as fast scanning of damaged codes for faster task completion.
- ARM Cortex-A9 (1.5 GHz)
- Support for 3G data communication (HSPA) and voice calls
- IEEE802.11a/b/g/n-compatible
- NFC reader/writer (RFID-compatible)
High Performance
Toughness you can trust
The rugged design is built to withstand challenging environments. The construction prevents twisting or warping of the terminal when dropped. Its rugged environmental shielding means it can be used in the harshest situations, such as out in the rain, or in a dusty warehouse.
- Drop impact resistance: 1.5 m
- Operating temperature: -20°C to 50°C
- IP67-compliant dust and water splash-proof
