C-Tick Framework

With the C-Tick framework, Australia joins most other industrialised countries in regulating the permissible radio frequency emissions from all sorts of products, but particularly microprocessor based products. To understand the issue, place a radio close to your computer and tune through a range of frequencies. The interference you pick up is generated by your computer. The C-Tick framework seeks to keep this interference to acceptable levels.

C-Tick N515 The C-Tick framework as it applies to products such as those supplied by ASP (officially Australian Standard AS3548:1993), requires registration of manufacturers (ASP is "N515"), who must then establish Compliance Folders for each of their affected products based on independent testing or assessment. These Folders are then subject to audit by the Commonwealth Government (ASP has already been audited twice). Products affected must be labeled with the C-Tick symbol plus the unique manufacturer's identification as shown.

Look for the C-Tick symbol on products you buy. You should find it on every information technology product you buy, except those characterised as "passive", and therefore not able to produce relevant levels of interference. Examples from ASP's range are cable assemblies, the DataTag Homebase, and plug paks. Just be assured that where compliance is required, ASP has taken care of it. If you are an overseas client discuss your local regulatory requirements with us.
